    The original Spanish is:

    No es en el descampado del mundo en donde el hombre muere de frío, es en el palacio de conceptos que el intelecto levanta.

    This is one of the few aphorisms in which Gómez Dávila speaks of the intellect (el intelecto), rather than the intelligence (la inteligencia).
